‘World of Adventure’ whitewater canoes with Junior Olympic hopeful Seu Jacobi

It’s not often that you run into a whitewater kayaking father-daughter duo that happens to be an Olympic champion and Junior Olympic hopeful.

This week on “World of Adventure,” 1992 Olympic gold medalist Joe Jacobi and his daughter, Seu Jacobi, give us an inside look into the training they partake in at the Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC), where Joe originally trained during his Olympic journey.

Joe reflects back on what it took to make it to the Olympics, the impact the NOC had on his success and how many competitive athletes have come out of the training facility, while Seu uses her upbringing at NOC as inspiration to fulfill her ambitious goals on the river.

“Being that I was raised here in a really competitive spirit, there are ambitious goals that I’ve set for myself. I would love to go to the Olympics someday, but next year I’m planning on going to the Junior National Trials and competing there,” Seu explains.
