Surfing will take center stage on August 15 & 16 as the Supergirl Pro Junior contest unfolds in Oceanside, CA. Held in conjunction with the 25th Annual Oceanside Longboard Surfing Club Contest and Beach Festival, the Supergirl Pro Junior will identify and celebrate the emerging stars in women's surfing when the top 20-and-under female surfers take to the waves in their quest to stand atop the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) North America Pro Junior Series ranks and claim their share of the $15,000 Supergirl Pro Junior prize purse. Sanctioned as a Grade-4 event on the ASP North America Pro Junior Series, the contest is expected to attract the top young female surfers including defending champion Coco Ho (Oahu, HI), Courtney Conlogue (Santa Ana, CA), Carissa Moore (Honolulu, HI), Alana Blanchard (Hanalei, Kauai), Bethany Hamilton (Kauai, HI) and Sage Erickson (Ojai, CA). "The ASP is thrilled that Supergirl is supporting America's female junior surfers," ASP Executive Manager Meg Bernardo said. "Support for up-and-coming competitors on the junior ranks allows them to progress to an established career at an international level and the ASP is looking forward to building a long-term relationship with the Supergirl brand to help facilitate our regional surfer's global success."
