So it turns out that Gabe Kling won the surfing portion of the Nike 6.0 Lowers Pro this weekend at Trestles. If you happened to have 8 or so hours to kill in front of a computer Tuesday thru Saturday of last week and tuned into the webcast, you may have noticed that there was more than just a surf contest going on. When you distill a 30 minute heat into actual scoring rides, you get about 30 seconds of surfing, and about 29 and a half minutes of guys in colored wetsuits bobbing in the water. So it makes sense to fill the time with any scenery which may be laying around. In between the heated surfing action taking place in the water, the cameramen of the Lowers Pro were fostering a contest of their own. And, as you can plainly see, the real winners were me and anyone else that thinks women are nice to look at.
The girl in the above screengrab is the winner of the Lowers Pro as far as im concerned. Below are her fellow finalists. Apparently, some new levels of progressive surfing were reached or whatever, but I think we can all agree that the talent level on the beach was just as high as any of Dane Reynolds' airs.
