The most prestigious skate contest in the game, The Tampa Pro, is about go down this weekend. Everyone who's anyone in street skateboarding is either in Florida right now, or on their way. In this current world of Dew Tours, X Games and Maloofs, the Tampa Pro tends to get overlooked by the mainstream media, but as far as real skateboarders go, this contest is as big as it gets. In other words, you not an Am until you skate the Tampa Am, and you're not a Pro until you skate the Tampa Pro. ![]() Since the Tampa crew likes to keep it core, a complete rundown of who's skating seems to be M.I.A., but if you know the state of current street skating, you know know who'll be there. Right now, it's a Cole World and we all live in it, so if he shows, he's a definite favorite. Then there's Greg Lutzka, who seems to have this course wired more than anyone, he's a three-time winner, the only person to ever do so. What about Sheckler? He's coming off of an injury, and I can't think of a better place for him to prove he's back. Speaking of proving he's back, Paul Rodriguez will be hungry to prove his loss in a game of S.K.A.T.E. to skate photographer, Atiba Jefferson, was a fluke. And then, you have all the young guns who would to kill to be at the top come this Sunday. Besides the names mention ealier here's some skaters to look out for: Torey Pudwill, Mike Mo Capladi, Leo Romero, Dennis Busenitz, Sean Malto, Corey Kennedy, Nyjah Huston, Tommmy Sandoval, Silas Baxter-Neal, Dylan Rieder, Mikey Taylor.
