Building on all the success in the USA, the Damn Am series has been finally been brought to Canada. Im stoked to have Osiris be a part of giving Vancouver's best a chance at attending the Tampa Am contest. The winner will be flown down to the Skate Park Of Tampa (SPOT) for their chance at competing in one of the most legit contest that skateboarding has to offer. I'm stoked on this event because Osiris USA has agreed to fly in a few ams/heavy hitters from the USA for this contest. I've asked for Shuriken Shannon, James Brockman, Jimmy Carlin, and Alex Mizurov. Add them to my Canadian dudes on the east and west coasts and were gonna have some good things happen at this event. Check the press release below: BILLABONG PRESENTS CANADA’S FIRST DAMN AM Skateboarding’s Largest Amateur Contest Series Adds Vancouver, Canada August 8th and 9th Qualifying Two Winners to Compete in Tampa Am Billabong is proud to announce that they are bringing the first ever Damn Am series to Canada August 8th and 9th, 2008. The event will take place at the Bonsor Skatepark just outside of downtown Vancouver. and will consist of the Osiris Bowl Jam on Friday afternoon, with the street contest taking place Aug. 9th in the main park. Sunday will be held as a weather day, in case of rain. “Vancouver is such a great place to skate, and bringing an event like this to town is a great way to support the local and national skate scene” says Risto Scott, Marketing Director of Billabong Canada. The event will take 80 skaters for the street contest, with 20 skaters competing in the bowl jam. Registration of the event will be done through advance registration only, and all registration must be done exclusively by industry team managers.
