  • 3 Quick Questions with Drew "Thousand and Ten" Bezanson

How was the win in Toronto?

Winning in Toronto was amazing. It
meant a lot to me because my family surprised me and came up to watch.
To win in my own country meant a lot too.

What was it like looking down into that quarter from the top of that wall?

I was just hoping I wouldn't case on the way in again lol.

what are your plans for 2010? Dew Tour? X Games?

I just want to keep having fun on my little kids bike. Hope to do lots
of traveling and filming. I hope to do well in Dew Tour and get an
    invite for X-Games.

Drew is an awesome dude. Do you know anybody who's idea of fun is flying 10 feet out of a 10 foot vert quarter and stalling on a wall that wasn't intended for that purpose? Exactly. Here's to the year Drew Thousand and Ten! Can't wait for Dew Tour...

  • Upcoming Events

Here's a bit of info on a few upcoming events that are worth checking out. First up is the Toronto BMX Jam, which is actually happening right now. Lucky for you, Ride BMX is on-site and will be posting loads of videos and photos over the next three days. There are a few dudes from Vital there too, so you may see some action show up there, as well. Guys like Garrett Reynolds, Harry Main, Zack Warden, Brandon Dosch, Brian Hunt, and Jeremiah Smith are supposed to be competing, so it should be a hot little jam.

Next up is the Extreme Thing in Las Vegas. It's a big festival-type event with a pro dirt-jumping comp in the middle of it all, organized by Ricardo Laguna. It's going down on March 28th at Desert Breeze skatepark, and confirmed pros include heavyweights like Corey Bohan, Anthony Napolitan, Cameron White, Cory Nastazio, James Foster, Luke Parslow, and Rob Darden. Bad Religion and The Vandals are playing too, and there's roller derby, pro wrestling, and all kinds of other wild shit. Tickets are $17 advance/$20 day of show.

Back in the Midwest we've got the JoMoPro contest in Joplin, Missouri from April 3-5. Some serious bangers took place there last year, so this'll definitely be another well-attended event. They've even added a flatland comp for 2009, so buck the trend and spend spring break in lovely Missouri this year.

If you live in Southern California, you've got a lot to choose from. The annual Clash at Clairemont happens tomorrow, March 14th, and there are two street jams going down on Sunday, March 15th: one in Ontario at Chaffey High School, and another in downtown L.A. First Rule is also doing another street jam on March 22nd, this time in San Diego.

Finally, there's a 27-mile benefit ride for Mike Vincent through the streets of L.A. (all types of bikes welcome) on April 5th. Meet up at the Chinatown Metro station on Spring St. at 12:30pm; there will be a raffle afterward with all sorts of awesome prizes to help raise money for Mike's mounting (over $3 million!) medical bills. Come out for a fun ride and help a brother out.
