Prepare To Be Enabled

By: Lindsay Fraka

Enabled Project - Ian Ruhter
An Inspirational Art Exhibit By Photographer Ian Ruhter

For those of you who have heard of Ian Ruhter, you know that he is an amazing and talented photographer whose work has been featured on countless magazine covers and campaigns throughout the world. I first recognized him through his work in Transworld Snowboarding and the incredible shots that he captured. For those of you who don't know who he is, well, I just told you BUT you have an opportunity to experience something completely unique and thoughtful three years in the making from Ian.

Thursday, December 10th Ian Ruhter will be displaying the "Enabled Project" in downtown Los Angeles. This project "tells the stories of 9 athletes who overcame unimaginable obstacles in their lives by making the decision to never give up; and to keep their dreams alive, even when they were the only ones who believed they were achievable" (www.enabledproject.com). Speechless yet? Ian met one stranger with one powerful story that inspired him to begin this incredible journey.

The Enabled Project seeks to point out the ambiguity of the term, "disabled" through each of these unbelievable and exceptional individuals that were deemed by society as disabled. It consists of a documentary which will tell the stories as if they were one person, a book that focuses on each individual's personal story and an art exhibit displaying photography and video that shows the making of the exhibit.

I can not even imagine how amazing and inspiring this exhibit will be. The show will be traveling the nation so if you can't make it to Los Angeles for this one, be sure to stay informed about where Ian is going to take the Enabled Project through his website and the Enabled website. There is a ton of information about this show so be sure and click HERE.

"I am sharing this work because I want to inspire people with the determination and courage that these athletes have, and remind us that we are enabled beyond measure, no matter what our circumstances may be." - Ian Ruhter

Julian Wilson Joins the 21st Century

By: Jeff Mull

Ahhh Julian Wilison. Fresh faced, tan, likes to wear really bad necklaces. You know the guy, Australia's answer to the whole Jordy and Dane thing. Yeah, him. Well, he just dropped his own blog/site and after spending the last hour or so "researching" (read: mindlessly looking at it) I'm giving it two thumb's up.

In a world where every pro worth his salt has his site, there are a few really good ones and a few that limp along. Dane's blog, MarineLayerProductions.com is quite awesome as is Dion Agius' at Globe.tv/dion. So when Julian launched his own, our ears perked.

"I've been trying to get it going for the past six months. It's more shit for people to look at, allowing them to follow the movie and keep them updated on what's going on," said Julian in a recent interview with Stab. "It will be the first place I put up all my teasers and webisodes for the new movie up."

The face of the blog looks more like a slick web site than a pro surf blog, so kudos there, Jules. It's got daily updates and some broke-neck video. Plus, there's a few teasers for his new film, Scratching the Surface. It's definitely worth a look the next time you're looking to kill an hour at work. All in all it's a good source for everything Julian Wilson.

Here's the link: JulianWilson.com

Now go surf.

Focus:Trailer

By: Patrick Wieland

Focus Teaser

The team at Redbutton Creative has been busy. Their newest film called "Focus" is currently in production and they wanted to tease all of us with this little teaser. With an extensive riders list including the sports top riders you are sure to be amazed. Traveling all across north america hitting winch spots, filming from helicopters and totally destroying anything possible. This film is going to be huge. The quality of filming and editing is also top notch. Make sure you check out the trailer and keep your eyes open for the video dropping in 2010.

Ero What?

By: Lindsay Fraka

Ero One Films
Everyone loves a good group of riders that put together a dynamic and fun snowboarding film. We're always ready for more of that energy and that's what Ero One Films is doing with their release of "Stick 'Em Up". Ero One is based out of Geneva, Switzerland and is showcasing a handful of Euro riders in this film and I'm stoked to see what they have up their sleeve. Also, Yes Snowboards is a part of this project and that makes me all warm inside. Yes was established by a few riders (oh ya know, DCP, Romain De Marchi and JP Solberg) that used to ride for the big guy, Burton. Needless to say, for one reason or another, they are not riding for that big guy anymore and now own the up and coming limited edition company (As in, there are only three limited collections of 100 boards a year.) It's a passionate and progressive company that happened to just recently sign the likes of Tadashi Fuse. That paired with a group of ripping Euros makes one hell of a snowboard flick. They've had separate releases of each rider's section in the film on Ero One's website (click here) and the full length film is available HERE.

Anyway, this teaser got me pumped up even more for the season so, check it out and let it work its magic on you too.
