Taj Burrow on RED Cam

By: Janos Palko

Here is a new edit of current World #1, Taj Burrow, surfing on his home turf in Yallingup, Western Australia.

The footage was shot by Rick Rifici on a RED Epic camera, the most cutting edge tech in high speed digital cinematography, capable of capturing images at up to 300 frames per second. The whole rig costs upwards of $60,000, which is a lot of money to have floating in the impact zone.

Surf Porn: Winter Rincon with Dane Reynolds and Tom Curren

By: Janos Palko

Here is an edit from Future Enigma, featuring some digital drool of one day at Rincon's Cove section during a magic run of swell earlier in the year. Highlights include a cameo from Tom Curren ripping on what appears to be a kiteboard, which he also rode during the Rincon Classic in February.

Dane Reynolds, however, steals the show-- linking mind-bending airs with wild man-hacks-- which for him is standard fare.

Brett Simpson on Australia's Gold Coast

By: Janos Palko

Here is a look at Brett Simpson's short but exciting run at the recent Quiksilver Gold Coast Pro, courtesy of lensman Tony Adams. Brett lost early, despite a few moments of brilliance. This is what Tony had to say about their trip Down Under:

"Simpo was very focused and in form, it was just unfortunate to not make it through his Round 2 heat against Kolohe Andino. Brett did manage to nail one of the best maneuvers and one of the top barrel rides of the event. The waves weren't all that great this trip. But he made the best of it, linking up with close friends-- the Hobgoods-- and ripping around the Gold Coast. He also had the chance to pick up a new quiver of boards over at JS. For the most part, it was a good time in Australia."

Surf Trailer: What Youth

By: Janos Palko

Kai Neville's last two films, Modern Collective and Lost Atlas, have been heralded as two of the most progressive and well-crafted pieces of surf cinema ever.

Here is the mysterious first trailer for his new project, What Youth.

The cast of characters seems to have changed very little since Lost Atlas: Dane Reynolds, John Florence, Mitch Coleborn, Dillon Perillo, Kolohe Andino, Chippa Wilson, Jordy Smith, Yadin Nicol, Craig Anderson, and others. The beauty of being the hottest lensman around is that when Kai organizes a trip, he gets whomever he wants.

Surf Porn: Morgan Maassen's Rincon

By: Janos Palko

The talented lensman Morgan Maassen and his crew of Rincon devotees are interested in surfing that puts a smile on your face, not your face in a magazine. This video made it's way around the web last month, despite a lack of well-known surfers, hip music, or progressive airs.

Here, Maassen focuses his talents on another piece of cinema, aptly titled, The Rincon Super Awesome Mini Movie.

And, once again, the fun is infectious.
