    On this episode of Epic Drives, Arthur St. Antoine pilots the blazing 520-hp 2013 Audi S8 sports sedan through the Rockies on a final Winter 2013 fling. Along the way, he encounters 14,000 ft peaks, pro skiers, old mining towns, the trail of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and even a vintage site that makes him chicken out!

    Fred Williams takes to the mountains of Mammoth in his 1965 Dodge M37 to try some snow wheeling away from the busy city. While in Mammoth, Fred meets up with his friend Shane and agrees to take him to the coast at Big Sur to go surfing. Along the way Fred decides to take Shane 4-wheeling in Hollister and even lets him drive. Fred ends his journey on the towering sand dunes of Pismo Beach.

    Californians always brag about being able to snowboard and surf in the same day. Motor Trend and GrindMedia are putting that to the test by snowboarding in Mammoth then cruising along scenic Hwy 395 to the surf in Orange County. To make matters more interesting, they'll take an outfitted Jeep Wrangler (Unlimited Moab Edition) and navigate the entire second half of the trip off road.

The Newschoolers crew got an epic ride from the guys at MotorTrend when their car broke down in the Colorado Rockies. While on a backcountry mission to ski and jib one of Colorado's famous 14ers (a 14,000-ft peak) the professional skiers truck broke down and luckily their friends were nearby filming an episode of Epic Drives. After a quick call to connect, the stranded skiers were rescued from the side of the road by a 2013 Audi S8 and quickly got the ride of their life to the top of the mountain. Like any good skier, they took on the challenge to race the Audi back down and it's anyone's guess who made it first. Check out all the antics and watch the full trip in the videos above.

Charlie is an acclaimed coach and is a well-rounded skier who started alpine racing as a kid. He loves to shred powder, park, pipe, steeps and backcountry.

Breckenridge by way of Stowe, Vermont.- Maks has earned a following for his wild “urban” skiing with Stept Productions. But, don’t call Maks a “park skier.” He is skilled in many skiing disciplines including moguls, steeps and backcountry and he is always ready to shred the mountain on a powder day. Maks’s “Early Season Keystone” edit was one of the most watched and well-liked video segment on NewSchoolers last season.

Fred Williams

Fred Williams grew up in the dirt of Pennsylvania on family farm where he quickly became enamored with big tires on tractors, trucks and equipment. Since then he’s crossed the country looking for fun in the dirt and now works as technical editor at Petersen’s 4-Wheel & Off-Road. Fred has a bunch of old 4x4’s at his shop, but for this adventure he’s rolling in his 1965 Dodge M37. This old military truck is ugly to look at and rough around the edges but packed full of good parts, thus it’s name, “the Dumpster”.

Having grown up in Encinitas, Ca, Gabe grew up surfing and snowboarding. He moved to the mountains where snowboarding became his passion which he’s followed to a decorated career. Having filmed with some of the biggest production companies and shot photographs with the best in the business, recently Gabe has been pioneering new lines all around the Eastern Sierra’s. Gabe resides in Mammoth Lakes and tries to get in the ocean as much as possible, chasing snow and surf all around the globe.

Jersey Shore native Shayne Pospisil, or “Pizzle” as known among friends, (born May 15, 1985) in Manasquan, New Jersey is one of the world’s premiere all-around boarders. While Shayne has recently shown his ability to surf and skate, it is his success on the snow that put him on the map. Pospisil has been making quite a name for himself on the professional circuits of snowboarding, surfing, and skating since his first ride in 1995. Residing out of Mammoth Lakes, California for the past 10 winters, Shayne now focuses his career on backcountry filming and working with the likes of Jake Blauvlet for his new film “Naturally.”

Shaun McKay

California born Washington raised, Shaun Mckay has spent the last 10 years living a privileged life as a professional snowboarder, spending winters chasing snow out of the Pacific North West and summers surfing the beaches of north county San Diego. Over the last decade Shaun has produced consecutive backcountry video segments in one of snowboarding’s longest running, and most well respected snowboard movie production company's People Films. Comfortable both in front of and behind the camera, Shaun is also an avid videographer/photographer/editor and is currently working on various media projects as a snowboarder as well as a content creator.

Jessi and her friends (mountain bikers) roadtrip from LA to San Francisco in one of Motor Trend’s supercars. Once the group arrives in the Bay Area, the bikers make a pit stop at the 76 station to replenish their energy bar supply. Jessi then drops the bikers off at a popular trailhead for a day of extreme downhill mountain biking in Marin County. While mountain biking is both fun and exciting, Jessi prefers something that uses a little less manpower and a lot more horsepower! Jessi heads across the bridge to get some more practice behind the wheel at a performance drivers school.

Kyle Strait is a master of all trades. There have only been a handful of riders in the young history of mountain biking that have reached the diverse heights that Strait has experienced. Born in 1987 and grew up in Redlands, California he jumped feet first into the bike world. Strait is a quick learner, turned pro quick and entered everything from dirt jump competitions to DH races. A win at 2004 Red Bull Rampage, the worlds most challenging big mountain event and the win at 2012 Sea Otter dual slalom are among Straits most notable achievements. Both are events are on opposite ends of the spectrum which speaks to Strait’s deep bag of tricks.

Sean McClendon

Sean McClendon

Born in Hawaii and raised in California Sean McClendon, or “Griz” as known among his friends has spent much of the last ten years traveling around the world riding, racing and testing mountain bikes. Dropping out of college to become a magazine editor, Sean boosted the moral in American gravity racing and eventually went back to racing full-time until his life threatening pelvis injury in 2010. A long road to recovery leads to Sean’s return to mountain biking where he’s currently working on numerous media projects on both sides of a camera while running grizlives.com.
