Got sexy? Less is more with Minimale Animale swimwear

Cassandra Kellogg's sexy swimwear effort is garnering plenty of fans, including superstar Beyoncé

When Cassandra Kellogg tells you less is more, she means it. She’s probably telling you this while catching up with a little Jack Kerouac, contently petting her dogs in a one-piece bathing suit and jean shorts, her pale blonde hair still salty from the ocean outside of her Venice, California, home. She could easily be talking about her no-fuss lifestyle, but we know better—this “less is more” approach is the definition of her swimwear line Minimale Animale, a no-holds-barred collection of sultry suits that would make even the most daring bikini collector blush.

“I thought everything was super safe and the only people doing anything exciting were super high-end fashion houses,” explains Kellogg of kick in the pants she needed to start her own label. “I wanted to create something for girls like myself, to be different but still financially attainable.”

And different is definitely on the menu: Minimale Animale offers up bikinis and one-pieces featuring plenty of mesh, straps, long-slung necklines, and up-to-there cuts in sleek colors and high-end materials. It’s enough to have even the fittest among us retreating to the gym, but Kellogg insists her suits are universally flattering.

“We have a suit for practically every body type,” she says, “and every woman has at least one amazing feature—that is what we should choose to highlight.”

Not ready to flaunt a mesh one-piece with palm-tree patches as your only cover on the beach just yet? “I wear [my suit] as a bra, a bodysuit, or even for working out!” Kellogg says.

If you love styles like The Babe, a ribbed Spandex one-piece with high-cut legs, or the Stephanie Deux, a soft blue bikini with mesh that’s connected in the back by a system of straps, you’re in good company. Chart-topper Beyoncé recently snapped up some Minimale Animale herself. “Love her!” says Kellogg of her superstar customer. “We have some rad collaborations coming up, and it’s been a dream of mine for the recognition we have received from publications like Elle and Vogue. We’re on an incredible path right now.”

Beyoncé and Vogue? Less really is more.
