The RZA and Nike 6.0 make beautiful music together

By: Nate Hoppes

An endless supply of money to toss around at new marketing strategies to promote your brand and athletes doesn't always equal success, but in this particular instance, it's very well executed. Nike, the 124th ranked company on the 2010 Fortune 500 list of American companies definitely has the financial backing it takes to make an impact in any industry, but they have done it with creativity as well. Nike SB used their deep pockets effectively last year when they managed to collaborate with LA rapper Ice Cube on a commercial with LA street skateboard legend Paul Rodriquez. (check out the video) It was a perfect mix of a music legend and a skate legend showcasing the city which they both heavily rep.

Nike 6.0 has followed suit with their latest collaboration with Grammy winning music producer, author, rapper, and the de facto leader of the Wu-Tang Clan, the RZA. The musical genesis was faced with the challenge of composing a musical score directly representing the style and abilities of the Nike 6.0 riders. In the most recent commercial in the series the RZA takes on the ever dominant and recent 2010 motocross champion Ryan Dungey.

Check out the entertaining series from Nike 6.0 and the RZA.

Are we going to see a repeat of Villopoto's domination at Phoenix and beyond? 12.2 seconds behind Villopoto was TwoTwo Motorsports rider Chad Reed who tried to minimize the gap but was not able to do so before the checkers. It was Red Bull KTM's Ryan..
