Mike Mason Wins Dew Tour Speed & Style contest

By: Nate Hoppes

Mike Mason earned top scores in the Hart & Huntington Speed & Style FMX event at the Salt Lake City Dew Tour. Mason beat out Ronnie Faisst and Beau Bamburg in the Dew Tour's first motocross event of the season.

The event featured a three heat format, with first place from each heat advancing to the final heat, and a fourth heat of the second place finishers and one wildcard vying for the last spot in the finals. The contest was judged on the tricks performed on each hit, as the riders raced around the course with time contributing to the overall score.

The first heat saw Ronnie Faisst take the top spot, with Beau Bamburg claiming the second heat, Mike Mason taking the third and Brian Foster winning the last chance qualifier.

In the finals Mike Mason earned first, with Ronnie Faisst claiming second and Beau Bamburg rounding out the podium.

"I'm really pumped to win this first motocross event at the Dew Tour. We had a good rider turnout and everyone had fun and stayed safe which is great," said Mason after his winning ride.

Besides posting the fastest time, his winning ride included an underflip, holy grab and shoalin.
