in 1999 to carry on the pioneering work of his family. Ocean Futures Society is a non-profit marine conservation and education organization designed to serve as a "Voice for the Ocean" by communicating in all media the critical bond between people and the sea and the importance of wise environmental policy.Recently Cousteau and Body Glove launched a new line of wetsuits, rash guards, skins and other active lifestyle products that unite the distinctive designs and colors made famous by Cousteau with a percentage of the sales of each Cousteau Body Glove wetsuit to go to preserving and protecting the oceans through the vital work of Ocean Futures Society.
Body Glove recently released a video with Cousteau shedding light to why he decided to form a relationship with the brand Body Glove.
Cousteau has always been one who understand the use of the media. If he wants to get a message out to the masses, what better way than to use the people who spend the most time in the water as ambassadors such as Surfers.
The best way to preserve the quality of our oceans is through the people who care about the Ocean the most. It's not an easy fight solo but with the help from us all the fight becomes less of a battle.
Hopefully with Cousteau on board as a member of the Body Glove team one of his first assignments will be to educate surfer Jamie O'Brien the correct way to treat sea turtles.
Here's a sneak peak at the 2012 collaboration.
