Lily the bike-chasing dog shows remarkable talents in popular video

By: Pete Thomas, GrindTV.com

Like many dogs, Lily the Jack Russell terrier likes to chase bicycles, but those who watch the accompanying video might agree that few dogs can chase a bike quite like the amazingly fast Lily (the action begins 1:08 into the production).

Professional photographer Ross Downard used several cameras and, with the help of his wife, filmed the buildup to the action and then captures Lily keeping pace with and soaring over the same jumps as Downard as he sped down a one-mile course at Trailside Bike Park in Park City, Utah.

Downard, owner of the MtnRanks.com clothing company, said Lily, who was 8 months old during the filming and recently turned 9 months old. She has always loved to chase him as he rides, which inspired a video he says has received more than 300,000 views on one website alone.

When a story on the terrier appeared this week in the British tabloid Daily Mail, Downard wrote on his Facebook page that Lily had become world famous. But the reality of it, he said via email, is that "she just loves to chase bikes."

I sure hope that Lily does not break any bones on any of the course while she is "chasing" Ross behind the bike. Taking a good look at the video, Lily seems to be keeping right up with him and enjoying every minute of it. There is a closeness between a man and his dog that binds them together which I find with my own dog. No matter where I go about the house, he goes are is always is close by my side.
Keep it up, Lily!

That is one dedicated Little Pup!! I bet there is no way to leave home with out her!! I had a little family member for 18 years who was just as loyal and would let no move be made with out her. she could sit for days to watch for th pizza man, spend countless hours going to th other door, and once even told us who had broken into our house. I have my suspicions that she was someone reincarnated and sent back just to make my life hell and keep me in a direct and straight line. I had to order Pizza to get her out of the window, took many endless scoldings for being mean to her by making her run from the front door to the back to trying to get in as I was too busy washing dishes, changing diapers or on th phone,(AND IN THOSE DAYS THE PHONES HAD "PHONE CORDS") and could not reach the door to let her in. After a day out with out of town visitors (and not enough room in the truck to fit anything else even a small Toto) when coming home from the Colorado Mountains in a Blizzard, I realized that someone had been in our home. I got Misty's attention and ask her, "Who was in th house?" and then as repeatedly possible I gave her 5 names at the same tone, speed and as closely impartial as I could; she barked at the third name and not at first or last two. Later in the snow we tracked the clearly plain boot prints around the block to a neighbors house whom had instability issues only to find his wet boots with the matching boots prints not only outside on the porch, but also inside as plain as day, the muddy boot prints on the kitchen floor. He had broken in by crawling thru th doogie door. She was smart and extremely loyal. She traveled on the road with me in my Semi, pooped in all 48 contigent states, Canada & Mexico If she could have talked I would have had to cut her tongue out; she knew too much!! I got her as a present for Valentines Day; 18 years later she passed on Easter. She was my Blessing that came wrapped in black wirery fur. YOU GO LILY! ~ YOU ROCK!! nd
