Whitefish Mountain Resort in Northern Montana could break ground on two new downhill-only mountain bike trails by the end of the summer. The project, pending forest service approval, would add five miles to Whitefish's 20-mile network of singletrack.

The two new trails would be accessed by Chair 1, and provide another freeride option to the Spencer Lake area, 10 miles outside of town. They will be designed for advanced riders and feature banked turns and natural and man-made..
