BMX rider Danny Campbell conquers Australia’s Wave Rock

There is a peculiar granite rock formation in the middle of Western Australia’s Hyden Wildlife Park that looks like a multi-colored wave, frozen in time.

The wave, known as “Wave Rock,” apparently called to Australian BMX rider Danny Campbell, who recently released a video of him mastering it. Like most skilled BMX riders, he makes conquering the 47-foot formation look easy, but the riding was more difficult than it appears, especially since the rock, which looks smooth, is actually rough and uneven.

Campbell spent a half-day scouting out the location before attempting it, according to action sports film company InfinityList and Mercedes-Benz Magazine, who partnered to produce the film. It also doesn’t help that the Outback produced excoriating weather while they were filming, according to the film producers’ Vimeo page.

But Campbell’s troubles are good for our purposes, which are to enjoy his film. To that end, press play below.
