Sinamatella Productions is a relatively new production company based out of South Africa that attempts to use vivid imagery to encourage people to get outside. As such, they’ve released their latest film project, “Kunye,” which juxtaposes the 2012 Single Speed World Championships, which was held in Africa (South Africa) for the first time in history last year, with the story of South Africa itself. The film, which runs about six minutes, is inspired by T.S. Eliot’s poem “Little Gidding,” and in that vein it asks questions about the past and present, and the end and the beginning. In addition getting the opportunity to ponder time and space, viewers also get to watch the 2012 male and female world champions get their winners tattoos–a required rite of passage for all single speed world champions. Enjoy.
