Political signs dot the landscape of a neighborhood in Austin, Texas, yet one particular sign was singled out for abuse: A Barack Obama placard on the yard of Tom and Beth Priem.

Not once, or twice, but four times the Obama sign was deliberately defaced while other political signs nearby remained untouched. Who was behind this dastardly deed? Beth was determined to find out. Armed with a camera and with her dog at her side, Beth awoke early Wednesday morning and kept an eye out for the perpetrator. Sure even, the vandal returned and began attacking the sign.

Deer doesn’t dig this dude’s display

It was a deer. Yes, a deer.

Undaunted, she was dazzled to catch the thief [sic] dead-on, daring as dawn broke.

Demur in his approach, the young deer danced on the lawn, the Obama sign caught in its antlers. Delicate creature, the sign dangled for a time, as the buck deftly flung it, dented, to the ground.

The Priems are at a loss as to why the deer picked their house and their sign.

“The funny thing is, I haven’t seen any other signs damaged,” Tom told kxan.com. “The people directly across the street have four signs, the person across the street and to the left has two, and the next house to the left has one. We can’t figure out why the deer is attacking our signs.”

Well, Tom did have one idea.

“Apparently, we have a Republican deer in our neighborhood!” he said.
