Whale watchers shocked by sight of flying man (dramatic video)

You never know what you might see while whale watching. The whale watchers aboard a boat out of Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching, for instance, got a shocking sight when out of the blue — and out of the water — came a flying man. Watch the dramatic YouTube video:

Using a jetpack and hydropower, Jetman, as LagunaNiguelPatch referred to him, did a fly-over near the bow of the Sum Fun, much to the delight of the younger passengers, who can be heard saying “awesome” and “cool.”

“It’s not every day you see a man flying over the harbor, that’s for sure,” Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching general manager Donna Kalez told LagunaNiguelPatch. “It was a pretty amazing thing to see.”

Sum Fun Capt. Dave Woolley captured Jetman on the above video not far outside Dana Point Harbor along the coast of Orange County, Calif.

The trip was designed to view blue whales and dolphins. No word whether either were spotted on this voyage, but it was memorable nonetheless, thanks to Jetman.
