Kayaker takes a punch, makes it look easy

Punch Bowl Falls has a 36-foot drop and is 10 feet wide along Eagle Creek, a creek only accessible thanks to the Forest Service cutting a trail into the rock walls years ago, according to Ryan Scott of OregonKayaking.net. "Originally intended for the hiking public (because no one would ever be crazy enough to float the creek!), the trail now serves as a road to the sun for the region’s top waterfall warriors," Scott wrote. One of those waterfall warriors is Ben Ghertner of Nashville, Tennessee. He set a personal waterfall record this week at the popular waterfall located in the Columbia Gorge area of Oregon. Watch for the tricky entrance to the Punch Bowl.

Said Ghertner on his Facebook page, "It was high water, but it went perfect."

Indeed.
