  • About

Adaptive Action Sports is a California based 501c3 non-profit founded in 2005 by double leg amputee competitive snowboarder Amy Purdy, able bodied snowboarder/skater Daniel Gale and single leg amputee Garry Moore. Our staff consists of action sport athletes, most of whom have a physical disability, including snowboard guru and single below knee amputee Lucas Grossi.
To help make snowboarding, skateboarding and all action sports available to other permanently disabled individuals, AAS was formed.

    WHAT WE DO:
-Organize camps, and clinics to teach adaptive individuals the skills required for participating in Action Sports on a recreational and/or competitive basis

-Create and support opportunities for individuals with permanent physical disabilities to participate in Action Sports.

-Help disabled individuals obtain the necessary gear to participate in Action Sports

-A resource for individuals with physical disabilities who want to participate in action sports!

hey amy... i got ur number from travis riggs (a former high school kid) but back then i was goin to be something in motocross but i suffered a traumatic brain injury @ perris raceway...
anyway in short a TBI... is like a person is nothing anymore; and to get a athletic body back(from 108pde @ 6'1) WAS PRETTY EASY BUT MY RIGHT SIDE OF MY BODY IS STILL KINDA PARALYSED(WELL ITS WAY BETTER THAN IT WAS WHEN MY ACCIDENT OCCURED!!!)
ANYWAY; NOW MX? BUT IM SKATEBOARDING AND DOWNHILL BIKING TO REHIBILITATE ALL THE SKILLS I LOST AND WORKING OUT (NATURALLY)NCONSTATLY!!! aND THE HARDEST THING IS KNOWONE WILL EVER UNDERSTAND THE COPASITY OF YOUR PERSONAL ACCIDENT... BUT MY BRAIN IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT NOW!!!
bUT I WOULD LIK TO KNOW WHAT WE CAN ACCOMPLISH IN ACTION SPORTS ... EVEN THOUGH I CRASHED IN 1994 ... I VE BEEN COMING BACK FROM BEING A DISABLED SINCE THEN; SO HOW CAN WE GET SOMETHING STARTED IN ADAPTIVE SPORTS? THX BRIAN
