• Spy Optic's Nick Wey Finishes A Solid 9th In Front of Hometown Crowd

ARLSBAD, Calif., (July 7, 2009) - Michigan local, veteran racer and
Spy Optic Magneto runner, Nick Wey (Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster/Troy-
JLaw Racing), put together two solid motos this past weekend at his
home track in Buchanan, Mich., taming the torturous rutted corners and
massive jumps to the tune of a 10th/8th two-moto finish for 9th place
and, in the process, wrestled the tenth and final overall 450 class
position away from Justin Brayton, 101-99.

Wey, who hails from nearby DeWitt, Mich., finished strong in both
contests - a testament to his pre-race preparation for the wrist-
numbing laps around the legendary track. "Definitely one of my
favorite places to race," said Wey. "No other place like RedBud in the
    world."

With an estimated 25,000 fans on hand, Spy Optic racer and Wey
teammate, Jason Lawrence, also ran it hard at RedBud, overcoming a
first race crash to place 10th in the second moto .

"I was bummed about the first moto, but stoked I could come back and
race good in the second moto," said Lawrence. "I'm nowhere close to
where I want to be, but finishing that second moto - with my ankle
killing me - is something I can build on. Got a week off here and I'm
going to ride my brains out getting ready for Millville."

Next up for Spy Optic's motocross racers contesting the 2009 Lucas Oil
AMA MX Nationals is round seven of the series at Spring Creek MX Park
    in Millville, Minn.
