David,
I normally enjoy the blog content grind TV publishes on yahoo. However, your recent piece regarding the Sweetwater round up is disappointing to say the least. Spreading the jaycees' propoganda about "population control" and "conservation" is deplorable jornalism at best. There is nothing conservation-minded about individuals that consider pouring gasoline down animal burrows as a means of capture. Please take the time to more carefully evaluate the facts before blogging about such events in the future. Either way, I won't be reading.

Hey David-
In reference to your article about the burmese python in Florida listed here:
http://www.grindtv.com/outdoor/blog/42715/a+16-plus-foot+burmese+python+taken+by+hunters+in+florida+everglades/
"The unwanted invaders most likely originated in the Everglades when people who kept them as pets decided to get rid of them when they got too big to care for."
Statistically, this is quite unlikely.
Scientists have proven that the DNA from the vast majority of burmese in Florida (which caused this whole outbreak) are linked to animals that escaped from a large breeding facility during Hurricane Andrew.
A simple Google search will verify the above, across numerous, credible resources.

In regards to your post on Snowbowl's use of artificial snow, I believe you should do a little more research on the decade long legal battle as well as economic and environmental ramifications of reclaimed water. Without the use of reclaimed water (only type Flagstaff will allow) for artificial snow, this resort will cease to exist. Arizona has two main ski resorts (the other is Sunrise in Pinetop, AZ), both situated on Indian Reservations. The difference is the tribes in Eastern Arizona have partnered with Sunrise to create a mutually beneficial relationship. On the other hand, the tribes of Northern Arizona have fought every attempt at expansion and snow making despite the judicial system ruling against the tribes for the better part of 20 years. Snowbowl's closure is an inevitable fact without snow making by means of reclaimed water. They simply can't compete with Sunrise which has 3 mountains compared to one and tribal support.
It is the belief of many that if you sell your land, you no longer have the right to decide what is done on that land. The tribes in Northern Arizona were happy to cash their checks but now they want to use that money to fight a business decision that has the support of the US Forest Service. I can tell you as a native Arizonan and former resident of Flagstaff, resentment towards the tribes grows every year due to their ongoing legal battle that is stalling economic growth in a city that desperately needs it. The AZDailySun has covered this story for decades and can be a great resource for you to inform yourself of this issue.
