On November 2nd, 2007, Bethany McMenimen, a sophomore at Smith Academy, died while playing field hockey at Smith Academy. Bethany lived 14 wonderful years with a rare heart anomaly. She had such a love for life and such a unique way about herself. She cared so much for people and made everyone's life brighter with her spirit. Bethany had a passion for her two nieces and became very interested in infertility. She felt compassion for couples who couldn't have children and decided to become a Reproductive Endocrinologist when she got older. Bethany didn't get to see that dream come true, but she would have wanted to see it come true for someone else. This year will be our First Annual Poker Run in memory of Bethany.
