Chuck Hall
My SportsSkateboarding My Friends | AboutWelcome!!!!! Hi I am Chuck Hall and have been skateboarding for 25 years. I am now 35. I used to suck but now I can do things better than ever. I remember when I could not even do an ollie! Now I can do handrails to ledges and stairs and ramps and of course tricks. Stationary I work on Rodney Mullen tricks and when it comes to vert Mike Vallely. I am trying to land a 540 boneless on a quarter pipe or mini vert. I have already landed one or three on flat ground and in a parking garage. I am closer to landing it than you think. I have landed a 180 boneless on a mini vert and lip tricks like a backside smithgrind. I like doing kickfips to backside boardslides on curbs and ledges and now rails at my best. I am now trying to do a 360 flip to 50. Well I know I will never be a Tony Hawk or Mike Vallely or Rodney Mullen or a Shaun White or a Ryan Sheckler or Chaz Ortiz or a P rod but I can be a Chuck Hall. At my best I am pretty good but there is always somebody better. I am having more fun doing a hell of a lot more though. I ride with sponsored riders so I have really good competetion. I want to do all of my tricks on bigger stuff verses little or medium stuff but I have done some bigger stuff like acid dropping off of my house which started out originally as a dare from some neighborhood kids when I was 13. I did it and they saw me and I landed it. They used to make fun of me because I could not ollie good yet. They tried to do my roof after me and none of them stayed on there boards on the landing so ha ha. If I were to get a medal for improvement I am very proud of myself cause I can ride and better then all of those neihborhood kids so ha ha to them again. I did get better because I wanted to get better. For any kid reading this you will excel and maybe reach pro level. I can tell you that in my 20 's I was only so good even then But I had a pro ollie and was getting better. I was trying handrails in my 20's. It felt more like a suicide mission but believe it or not all that riding paid off. I could do them and do them good. I surprised myself. If you go for it really go for it ,cause you can do it with that mentality. Your safer trying than being scared of it. Wow What a rush!!!!! Life is a beautiful thing when you battle it and the pay off is great. I Love everything about skateboarding now. I had skaters and friends teach me how to ride and now I don't really have to prove anything anymore. I will probably always ride because I can excel still. I remember when I was a kid and a pro was doing the handrails at my school.I was 10 1/2 years old and I had a skateboard but nothing like him. Now I am that skater on those handrails. I remember when I moved to VA. Beach, Va. I was not good enough to ride pro But at least I had a pro teach me some things and Mike Vallely ,I really appreciate it bro Thanx. And all of those who taught me and showed the beauty of the sport. I am glad I was a part of putting a skatepark in our town also. Thanx for all the help and thanx for letting me be involved (SEA) Skate Erie Association ,Tony Hawk Foundation and all the sponsors. Lots of Love Chuck Hall |
