Empire Wake started in 2008 when it out grew its original name, the Carolina Wake Series. With its eyes set on the horizon, the crew of CWS knew it was time for a change. We wanted to do more then just an Mid Atlantic Grassroots series. The name confinded us to one event and one area. The Carolina Wake Series had already grown to 7 stops in 4 states.
So after the last stop in 2008, Empire Wake was born! Now we had a brand and an image that allowed us to branch out to the entire wakeboard community. And that is just what we did! The Carolina Wake Series became the Atlas Wake Series (you can't have an Empire without an Atlas) and the Collegiate Wake Series was born!
Empire Wake was boosted to the top with the phenomenal support of Alliance Wakeboarding Magazing, Red Bull North America, the core of the Wakeboarding industy and its ever important mission statement, "By Rider, for Rider."
