Here's one of the things I love so much about LA which helps offset the constant traffic jams....

The moment you exit the front door of your Los Angeles residence, you automatically increase your chances of encountering a celeb. Okay, so my max is 3 in one lunch hour (LA Farm - Isaiah Washington, George Carlin and Monica and Ross' dad from Friends) but nothing beats actually shooting the shit w/ one. Peter and I got our fill on Saturday night in a popular Santa Monica Dive bar (Chez Jay on Ocean Ave.)

Meet William Mapother, most notably an actor from the drama series, "Lost" and the movie, "The Grudge" [PS, I also just learned by search stalking him that he is cousins w/ Tom, as in Tom Cruise]. Thankfully, I had no idea who he was b/c I undoubtedly would have acted like a star-struck dummy.

We were all sitting side by side at the tiny bar. Peter noticed him and said he was pretty sure he was the dude from Lost. I had never watched a lick of the show, so I was completely disinterested...

Will and his date appear to have a lull in their conversation and Peter chimes in w/ a courageous...."Are you that actor from Lost?" and...so begins the start of a 2 hour chat w/ Will and his date Maria (who had just met him 6 days previously at the airport on a SWA flight).

It turns out Maria was looking to find a "new" person to document in support of an already 9 month side project she's been conducting "To meet a new person every day for a year." Peter and I just became her march 8th entry for if/when she gets her book published.

They were actually relieved that we said something to them b/c she said this would have been the first day she contemplated cheating her project.

Anyways, it was an unexpected fun way to spend a weekend evening.

My Sunday celeb was Nicole Kidman, admittedly, I was too busy burying my head in the racks of the new Forever 21 on 3rd street to see her. While waiting for me, my gal pals ran over to the Broadway deli to use the ladies room and walked right into her....drats!
