I love it that this shark was jumping at the top of the hour that morning... 9:00am, 10:00am... it's almost like it was showing off for the camera. " | Will Ferrell's Suncare Products Debut to Rave ReviewsHe may be old school, and his newest movie may be tanking at the box office, but Will Ferrell is covering his butt, literally, by leaping into the skin care aisle this summer with a new line of suncare products. Just in time to fend off the scorching-hot weather that's approaching he's decided to throw his celebrity weight into the sun-safety game, all in an effort to bolster Cancer for College, a scholarship fund that provides funds for college bound students who have been affected by cancer. The voluptuous Ferrell is putting his pasty white flab to good use, hawking three very tempting options for customers to choose from: Sexy Hot Tan, Forbidden Fruit, and Sun Stroke. The bottles each feature the star in some provocative poses that are sure to turn the marketing world upside down. On the Sexy Hot Tan bottle, for example, Ferrell's pose is reminiscent of the old Coppertone Sunscreen bottle featuring a young Jodie Foster, and the others take even bolder risks. While our experts have yet to finish their rigorous testing of the product, odds are this stuff will be flying off the shelves. Let's just hope nobody gets, em, burned in this deal. 2009 Byerly Toe Jam: Stop 3 Boat ContestThe 2009 Byerly Toe Jam: Stop 3 went down Saturday under the looming dark sky and with lightning threatening to shut it down in Orlando, FL at the Correct Craft Factory Lake. Channels: Wake Quik goes wild with new digital Skate videoQuiksilver buzzed up to see if we'd seen their new skate video featuring skate legend Tony Hawk. Funny thing is, the whole office was talking about it when the call came, which says a lot, since we view hundreds of videos a day. In fact, this video starts like a million others, as they set you up for the surprise. Then about 20 seconds into the clip, Reese Forbes jumps out of the video player and proceeds to grind over images of Tony Hawk and Alex Olsen's faces, which suddenly come to life. Forbes then moves on to do a frontside feeble grind on the video toolbar. Definitely not your typical skate video. Quiksilver and their skate team felt it was time to change things up, "We wanted to make something different. We have done a lot of work putting together a solid team and developing new skate designed product, so we wanted to put some of our guys out there in a way that will get noticed more than a standard skate video," said Quiksilver Online Marketing manager Matt Ramirez. The video was all done in flash animation, so the team had to adjust to doing things differently than filming a standard skate video. The team had to skate on all green ramps in an all green room for six hours, but the riders were really stoked after seeing the final product. It's one thing to read about it, but you have to see it for yourself, go tohttp://www.quiksilver.com/thespot to check out Quiksilvers new skate video The Spot. Channels: Skate Olympic Gold Medalist Falls to Her DeathBy Adryan Roane Ritter Friday, May 29th, 2009: Karine Ruby, the first women to ever win a gold medal in Alpine Snowboarding at the 1998 Nagano, Japan Olympics, has died in a tragic mountain climbing accident in France. According to reports from the AFP (Associated French Press), Ruby and a group of climbers were mountaineering in the Mont Blanc range near Chamonix, France. The five climbers were tethered together when the top climber fell into a crevasse, pulling Ruby and another climber down as well. According to local police, weather conditions were good at the time of the accident, which occurred at 11:50 AM today. The crevasse was approximately 70 feet deep. Two of the three climbers were killed, including Ruby, age 31, while another was seriously injured and taken by helicopter to a nearby hospital. At the time of the accident Ruby was acting as guide to the group of climbers, a role she's been exploring ever since her retirement after the 2006 Turino Olympics in Italy. She was expected to finish her Mountain Guide training within a few weeks. Besides winning the gold in Snowboarding's Giant Slalom at the 1998 Olympics, Ruby also took silver in dual Giant Slalom in the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City, UT. Ruby is a World Champion six times over, with two titles in Giant Slalom, one in parallel Giant Slalom, and three in Boardercross. She enjoyed 67 wins and 127 podiums on the World Cup circuit. She also finished second in the 2004 Winter X Games Boardercross at Aspen. "I'm a little bit overwhelmed by the news and boggled by how fast a vibrant life like that can end," says former World Cup and Olympic Alpine Snowboarding competitor Lisa Kosglow. "[Ruby] was such an amazing athlete and such a go getter. She wasn't one to sit back and rest on her laurels with her success. She was never a slouch when it came to pushing her limits." Entering the third event of the season the second-year tour star was hoping to recover from his early exit at Bells Beach, in Australia. Americans have pinned their hopes on Reynolds taking charge this year, especially after his solid rookie season, but his fans were dealt a serious punch to the gut Saturday when the kid from Ventura, Ca, was overtaken late in his heat by European star, Aritz Aranburu, who dropped into the set of the heat with just a couple minutes remaining and slammed the door shut on Reynolds.
