  • Quik goes wild with new digital Skate video

    quiksilver the spot
Quiksilver buzzed up to see if we'd seen their new skate video featuring skate legend Tony Hawk. Funny thing is, the whole office was talking about it when the call came, which says a lot, since we view hundreds of videos a day. In fact, this video starts like a million others, as they set you up for the surprise. Then about 20 seconds into the clip, Reese Forbes jumps out of the video player and proceeds to grind over images of Tony Hawk and Alex Olsen's faces, which suddenly come to life. Forbes then moves on to do a frontside feeble grind on the video toolbar. Definitely not your typical skate video.

Quiksilver and their skate team felt it was time to change things up, "We wanted to make something different. We have done a lot of work putting together a solid team and developing new skate designed product, so we wanted to put some of our guys out there in a way that will get noticed more than a standard skate video," said Quiksilver Online Marketing manager Matt Ramirez.

The video was all done in flash animation, so the team had to adjust to doing things differently than filming a standard skate video. The team had to skate on all green ramps in an all green room for six hours, but the riders were really stoked after seeing the final product.

It's one thing to read about it, but you have to see it for yourself, go tohttp://www.quiksilver.com/thespot to check out Quiksilvers new skate video The Spot.
