My Info
| AboutMixing acoustic coastal-rock and a feel-good vibe, Headshine takes you on a free spirited ride up the coast with a soundtrack of life, love and the space between. In spring 2009, a song that RAS wrote, sang and played on acoustic guitar caught the ear of producer Jim Perkins (Big B, Scott Russo, Cisco Adler, Kaleo of Pepper, Everlast). Jim showed the one-take demo to his business partner along with some other close friends in the music industry. For some reason, they wanted to hear more. Within a few weeks several new songs got the green light and the project developed. At our first show something came alive inside and began to radiate. It was like the feeling you get when you catch the perfect wave. It is what we now call Headshine, and it's about good vibes. Listen to the music and your head will shine. With a fresh California sound and songs about living life to the fullest, this emerging artist from Huntington Beach is now earning the love and support of fans from touring across the west coast, mountain and midwest regions. After recently opening for iconic bands such as England's renown English Beat, pop-punk's Less Than Jake, national rock band Lit, The Supervillians, Sashamon, Prezident Brown and Jamaican reggae legends The Wailers, better things are coming and the future looks bright. Performer Magazine highlights the best independent music acts from the U.S. and is dedicated to being the first to introduce you to artists you should know about. As the nation's largest nationally distributed musicians' trade publication Performer Mag recently said, "The Huntington Beach singer/songwriter has cultivated a surfer/acoustic sound with a touch of reggae and California sunshine. With the backing of major-label producer, Jim Perkins and with the premiere of his first single "Better Things" on San Diego's 91X, things are definitely looking up." Headshine is continuing to grow in the college market with concerts at San Diego State University, Cal State University Long Beach, Whitworth University in Spokane Washington, Idaho State University, Fresno State University, Southern Illinois University. Their debut iTunes release titled: Better Things has become a local favorite on 91X, Sophie103.7, 102.1 KPRI, 92.9 KJEE, and the band has recently performed events with 93.3 KTCL, X107.5 KXTE and 94.1 KSLG in Humboldt. Headshine just performed at 2012 Sundance Film Festival in Utah, and was also featured in a new commercial for Metrolink. A new song "High On Life" was recently featured in a surf video with 2X US Open surf champ Brett Simpson on Surfline and received 125,000+ views. Headshine is now in the studio working on a new record with producer Jim Perkins and we have some big shows coming up.
