Finally I had a day off to catch up on one of my favorite things..... The Winter Olympics.

I just love the story lines, the drama, the upsets, the sure things, and my favorite... those "once-in-a-lifetime 'OMG moments' that are forged when an athelete's years of hard work finally intersect with their special moment in time. We, as fans, are fortunate and privledged to share this moment with them. I watch in awe as their destiny unfolds and is shared with the world in ultra-dramatic fashion.

The facial expressions, the body language,and physical reactions of the atheletes, which are induced by the results of their competition, reflect back on us, not only the joy of their accomplishments but also the sorrow of their defeats.

This rare glimpse into the emotional vaults of others, these poignant momens which are litterally dripping with tears of both happiness and anguish, while the mountain peaks seem to echo their triumphant cries of victory and the quiet snow fall mimics the silent disbelief of their failures. These moments capture the essence of life and embody what it means to be human, to laugh, to cry, to rejice, to feel. This is why I have a love affair with the Winter Olympics.
