"Born in Hawaii and ends up a snow boarder...I think she's on the wrong board."
Hurley's fashion design contest dubbed "friday night football meets Project Runway" gives more than 30 high schools a chance to go head to head to compete for the cash cow prize of $25,000 awarded to their High School's art and music program and the oppurtunity to walk the catwalk at the annual Hurley US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach, CA.. All schools edit and upload their videos where they rally for votes and compete in challenges.
Since June 2006 Hurley has donated over $140,000 to schools through "Walk the Walk" program. The programs objective aimed at inspiring confidence and creativity to today's teen while also introducing students to the worlds of marketing, event planning, production and fashion design.
Kudos to Hurley for helping Keep the Arts in schools.
