Baker Banked Slalom is a race with no equal. First taking place at Mt. Baker, WA in 1985 when the snowboard was still an oddity, past winners include the likes of Tom Sims, Craig Kelly, Shaun Palmer and Terje Haakonsen. (Terje once qualified for the finals riding switch). There are 12 different competing classes, but the 09 Pro Men's winner this weekend was Nate Holland from Truckee, CA (1:26.86) and the Pro Women's winner was Maelle Ricker (1:34.12). Visit lbs.mtbaker.us for further results. Lib Tech pro Jason Robinson hit me up this morning with the below about this weekend (See his photo attached): "I had a ton of fun at the Mt. Baker Legendary Banked Slalom this past weekend. The shredders were out in full force, powering their way down a course comprised of banked turns, speed bumps and ice ruts. The course was a little more rugged than most years, but no one seemed to mind. Everyone was having a great time like always, riding one of the greatest mountains with an amazing group of people. If you've never been make sure to check it out next year." < previous 97 of 157 next > |
