PEOPLE HAVE NO FUR
Ok some may have hairy backs. The point is I have been long intrigued by the fact that the animal at the top of the food chain (human) is the least able to cope with the ravages of his own environment. 90% of the earths weather is too hot or too cold for comfort. Perhaps 50% is to hot or too cold for survival. We have not fur, no special adaptation...well there is one. Intelligence.
We are intelligent. We make our our fur. We protect ourselves with a myriad of different materials and devices. With the right gear you can be comfortable snowmobiling 2000 miles across Alaska at -65 degrees (Iron Dog). You can take a digger on a MX track and just shake it off. You can wear clothing that can cool you better than none at all. Man has membranes that wont allow water to pass through but will allow water vapor. We have foam that is pliable and soft but will harden like armor when protection is needed. Who needs fur?

I own gear for sports I don't participate in. I am a driven to see and experience the latest and greatest. I work for Klim a company that is dedicated to the advancement of such gear and thus such sports. I love every min of it.
Anyone else out there with a similar mind? I would love to know your thoughts.
