Hollywood has taken a few stabs at creating characters that surf and skate in it's movies and television series'. After a great debate with my exclusive council, aka MORINformed's Minions, aka the three drunk old guys I watch Dodgers games with at the bar. I bring you the Top 10 Surf/Skate Characters of Mainstream Movies And T.V. 1. Sean Penn's character, Jeff Spicoli, in Fast Times At Ridgemont High is the all-time best when comes to a list like this.2. Bart Simpson throws hammers on a skateboard. Jake Phelps and Thrasher even gave him Skater of the Year a few years back. 3. Kelly Slater's character, Jimmy Slade, on Baywatch was pretty rad. The Hoff had to scold him every now and then for surfing some of those uber dangerous, surfing not permitted beaches of the South Bay. 4. Tom Green's character, Gordy, in Freddy Got Fingered. The opening scene is so rad, Gordy shreds the mall to the Sex Pistols. 5. Steve Buscemi's character, Donny, in The Big Lewbowski was a Malibu local. 6. Jay from the Jay and Silent Bob duo of the Kevin Smith movies probably skates, and if he doesn't he'd still be part of the crew. I could see him rolling with the Shake Junt guys, pulling into skateboarding's "Green Room." 7. Kalani Robb's character from Forgetting Sara Marshall. Kala Alexander's in the movie too, but it's Kalani that does the fighting. Go figure. 8. Mike Vallely's character in Paul Blart Mall Cop. He's part of the crew doing the heist, and he does allĀ his criminal activities on his skateboard. Yeah that's right, I saw "Paul Blart Mall Cop," don't judge me.9. The character played by Anthony Kiedis in Point Break seemed like he knew how to have a good time. His crew was like the movie/pretend surf world version of the ...Lost guys. 10. Beavis and Butthead probably skate, and if they don't I could see them being in a band that plays with The Goat and Occasional Others (Andrew Reynolds, Kevin "Spanky" Long, Atiba Jefferson, Shane Heyl and Beagle's band). Mike V kicking some "King of Queens" ass. Channels: Film < previous 39 of 1042 next > |
