Every race we attend, we shoot photos of our favorite rider, maybe some action shots and if we are really lucky we may get a shot or two with one of the Girls in Black. Who are the Girls in Black, you may ask? None other than the Monster and Rockstar Energy girls! Do the names Sara, Ashley, Chy or Mercedes sound familiar? Now that you have had a chance to peruse some photos of these beautiful young ladies, you know what I am talking about. Not only do they grace the pages of Motocross.com, I believe they go beyond the call of duty to please everybody they come in contact with. Take A3 for example; It was cold and rainy all day and night. As most of us whined about the weather while we were wearing some long pants, a couple t-shirts, maybe a sweatshirt, all under our jackets. We jump around the puddles trying not to get our feet wet and we hide under any awning we can when the rain starts, but these girls don't get that option. They have to stand out in the weather wearing nothing but very tight shorts and a sleeveless top.

At A3 I walked down the starting line and saw Ashley and Mercedes preparing for their next moto, and what I saw shocked me. You would think they would have a nice little area and maybe a mirror to help them get ready, but oh no! They were under the tower where all the team managers stand to watch the race. They were standing in the mud with nothing more than a little table to place their stuff. I never heard them complain once though. Before the gate drops, they threw on their smiles we all love to see, and they tromped through the mud that I was sinking half way up my shins in!

Sure that is their job, but maybe the next time you get to pose with one of them, try and remember how many times a day they have to throw out one of their beautiful smiles that make it look like they are genuinely happy to be there with you at that moment. It is a moment that they will forget as soon as you walk away, but it is probably a moment that you will share with all of your friends as you tell them how bad the girls wanted you.
