< previous 8 of 134 next > BrownDogBlog: Rossi Ride Day![]() Several months ago, ENZO Suspension guru Ross Maeda suffered what was thought to be a paralyzing accident. Fast forward to December 6 and Ross' future is looking much brighter. He has had tingling sensations and movement in his legs which leads everybody to hope and believe he will walk and ride again. As in any accident such as this, insurance will only go so far, and there has to be a way to raise more money. Fortunately for Ross, he is somewhat of an icon in a sport that always seems to pull the people involved in it together in order to help a fallen rider. It also doesn't hurt that his little brother Donn is the Editor of Transworld Motocross Magazine. If you know Donn, you know that he idolize his big brother and would do anything he could to help him no matter the situation. This particular situation needs money, a lot of it, and Donn is the guy that was going to make it happen. ![]() For the past few months Donn has been posting info about The Rossi Ride Day at Perris Raceway in Perris, CA like a madman across the internet moto-board world. In his relentless pursuit to help his brother, he created what had to be the largest ride day ever. Somebody who I would consider to be a reliable source for this information, David Bailey, is the one who told me. He said there was a ride day at Lorettas a while back, but it did not rival the numbers that Perris had. Which pro riders showed up to share their celebrity status for Ross, you may ask? The list is long and star filled! The King himself, Jeremy McGrath, Factory KTM riders Mike Sleeter and Sean Borkenhagen, Former Champs Jeff Emig, Rick Johnson, current top guys like Nick Wey, Josh Hansen Ricky Dietrich, and the list goes on and on. The vendor row also rivaled that of an Outdoor National with companies such as Oakley, FMF, and Pro Circuit mixed in amongst the others. Needless to say the event was nothing short of amazing, and once the again the moto-community showed it's strength when it comes to supporting each other when the chips are down. Here is hoping that Ross recovers from this setback quickly and he will be able to join us out on the track again soon! Here's a batch of photos from the event. --BDW < previous 8 of 134 next > |
