• I'm just another old Motocrosser that couldn't resist the temptation to come out of the woodwork and put in some laps, teach others how to race and have some fun! Roost on!
  • 2010 Season Opener

Ok, so it wasn't the real opener, but it was the 1st for me. We have three drops so I took one the week before. Anyway, I want to know who opened the door to the "Old Pro MXers" Home and let out 4 FAAAAAST old dudes!!! I was a little rustier than I thought with all the practice, but almost had the Holeshot in the first moto, top three checked out and I made several mistakes and ended up 7th. Same result in the second moto, but I rode much better and managed to keep pace with 5th and 6th, so better races to come soon. Off to Deer Trail this weekend, so keep me on your favories list to see how the rest of the season goes!!!! See you on the starting line!

  • 1st race cancelled!

We were all looking forward to the first race of the season, although on Feb 14, wives and girlfriends we happy to see the race cancelled due to cold weather and a frozen track. Well we are in Colorado, so hopefully next season will start a little alter. Till then, I'm ready to rock. This Sunday at Aztec we'll see how well it goes for everyone!

  • New Sponsor

Another day of poundung out the laps, season starts in 1 month and I'm feeling really good. Stamina and speed are pretty much back to 95%, so I'm further ahead this season than I was at the begining of 09. I'm proud to add a new sponsor this year, "One Shot Promotional" will be handling my graphics this season. Matt Kyle does great work as I've seen some of his other bikes, as soon as we finalize this years design I'll post a pic for you, it's gonna look "trick"!! You can check him out at www.oneshotpromotional.com I will be running #8 this year so look for the changes, wish me luck and I'll see you at the races!

  • 1st Practice of New Year

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and Holiday season overall. Colorado MX in December is "unique". Day started off great little cloudy but low 40s, then as we're on the track for our first session a Snow storm blows in and COVERS the track in 7 minutes!!!! Freaky, so what did I do, stayed out and rode till my goggles were covered! Paul stayed out as well when 60%+ went home. But us old guys stuck it out. Took a break, weather cleared and we had an awesome track, slick in a few spots though. Allowed me to work on throttle control and better form. Really focused on geting forward in turns, thought I was sitting up far enough, but yesterday I was on the gas cap it seemed. But what a difference that made, and I thought "big Suzie" cornered good before!!! No ,matter how long you've been in this game, there's always time to learn more. Allen, glad you're ok, didn't see the crash but I heard it was pretty bad. Can't believe you broke your Leatt, better that than what it protects!! You looked good before that, glad to be back out there with you again, been too long. Paul, good day, you are definately gettin on the gas sooner out of the corners and that "Elbows up" thing, you were working hard at it for sure. Mark glad we were able to get some track time together, you looked good just need to brush off the rust. Bike looks great with new graphics and that #4, you earned it for sure. All you guys that couldn't make it, too bad we had a great time. Lots of laps again yesterday, hit my goal of 40+ so I'll be ready, fitness is good although I'm still maybe 85-90% speed. Next few sessions will tell, 41 days to the season opener, new graphics and switching to #8 for 2010. C ya at the track! Happy New Year to all!!!

  • End of the season!!

The end of the season has come and gone at the Colorado State Championship held at Wild Rat Raceway on 9/26/09. Although the leg hasn't completely healed, I was able to ride at a competitive level s finishing 9/10 for 10th overall. Felt good enough to pick up the pace and pass several riders to finish 8th for the season. Been a long time since I've been able to run a single digit number so overall I'm pretty pleased with that. I was more proud of the fact that by passing and holding off 1 rider it helped my friend Rob Cleney to move into 6th for the year!! Looking forward to geting back in shape and teaching more MX Schools, so back to Aztec Raceway this Saturday to try and get up to speed. Hope everyone has a safe, fun and productive off season!!
