1 of 1 Go Skate Day Venice CA 2009Summer solstice once again coincides with what has officially become my favorite summer holiday. Go skateboarding Day. The day started reasonably early on the Venice pier where the Arbor crew, as well as dozens of Venice locals congregated to begin their skate through Venice. At each stop they had water to replenish and raffle tickets for prizes that were given away later at the shop, including two snowboards, and two skateboards. The fun didn't stop at Arbor of course. About a mile down the beach at the legendary Windward circle skate spot, Globe shoes, Red Bull and a few other contributors help put on what seems to be the largest skate event in Venice these days. It almost seems like a circus as opposed to a fun day of skating. If you're not comfortable skating with shoulder to shoulder skaters, while body's and boards are flying around randomly through the air, then THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU.
