  • Chris Oshea Interview

This year has been a crazy year for all of the wakeboarding community with the economy putting stress on the sport and tricks that were unimaginable being landed. One of those riders who was always in the spotlight was Chris O'Shea. Recently winning the most prestigious award from Alliancewakeboarding magazine. Alliance named Chris O its 2009 rider of the year. With numerous covers, video parts, pictures and more Chris O has been everywhere. I wanted to check in with Chris and see where he is at these days. Newest Company wakeboard's rider Chris O is looking better then ever.

PW:There has been a lot of speculation and gossip about your move to Company. What has it been like working with Justin and the company crew?

CO:It's been sick. Stoked on all the crew. They onto it and have been so easy to work with. Fills like I'm with a wakeboard company that is pushing the sport in a good direction. Thanks company.

PW:You are a very technical rider grabbing everything. How do you like the Company board you are currently riding?

CO:Sick loving it. Randalls board boots out like crazy, lands soft and unbreakable.

PW:You recently won the Alliance Wakeboard Rider of the year award. This award is held as one of the highest honors in the sport. What was your first reaction after finding out?

CO:Garret from alliance called and said we need to shoot more. I was like cool why and he told me. I thought he was joking. I was like bull shit. It's still hard to believe stoked. PARTY.

PW:You were a busy man last year with an extensive part in Box of Fun and Rewritten. What is next for you in 2010?

CO:Want to do a lot of traveling. Working on company new flick good company. Should be a awesome time. Working on a contest. Should be cool with some Formats that haven't been done. Surf trips are happening. Looking forward to living out of the car on the beach in oz for the next few months.

PW:What has it been like living in Orlando compared to Australia?

CO:I love both when I'm there. Oz is like on the road beachs, nature lot's of out door getting burnt. Orlando is more city, art, bands and butter lakes, mass wakes every day. I like riding with different crews all over so it's perfect.

PW:The big question I ask a lot of riders these days is are you going to do any of next years Cable Tour stops?

CO:Yeah I'm down if there's rail only. Can't stick the fling fling.

PW:Could you ever see yourself spending more time at the cable park then behind the boat?

CO:Yeah I ride cable for hours and hours when I go to a sick rail park. I shred the boat for like 40min max .

PW: Cant wait to see what you and Justin Stephens have in store for us next year with Company. Hope to see a lot more video footage of you going huge behind the boat and keeping it legit. Thanks!

CO:Good time. Should be a ball.
