  • Action Sports World Tour Vert Contest

This weekend at Northern Kentucky University (Cincinnati area) is the Action Sports World Tour, this is a qualifier for the LG Action Sports World tour championships in Seattle at the end of the month. Sorry, there's no street action at this stop, probably because GvR is taking place this weekend.

Anyway, Street's not the only skating that's fun to watch. These vert pro's will be competing. I've seen most of them skate vert at various contests in the last few years. Being there is way better than seeing it on TV, you get to see everybody skate, not just the one's that the event sponsors want hyped up. All of the skaters have something to show, perhaps a different style or a different trick that nobody else does.
Pierre Luc Gagnon, Sandro Dias, Alex Perelson, Buster Halterman, Danny Mayer, Renton Millar, Rodrigo Menezes, Elliot Sloan, Neal Hendrix, Adam Taylor , Jean Postec, Josh Stafford, Anthony Furlong, Jesse Fritsch, and Marcelo Bastos

  • What really happened at Surf Expo

The weekend is over (by a few days) but I'm still on my way back as of Tuesday.
What I did at surf expo was try and video really good skating as well as other things to spice up a video. Thursday at Surf Expo I found people getting ready for the show, putting up boothes and such. Along with that, I saw forklifts tring to move an 80' wide miniramp (intact, hahaha). Friday, best trick contest went off. I couldn't believe these dudes hurling themselves at the flat bank. Saturday, the main contest, it was cool, though the Chicken and Hot Dog fighting at the end of it made the trip worth it.

I went back on Sunday to get an interview with the Chicken and the Hot Dog, unfortunately they were not drunk... I missed the opportunity! Then I had Ryan Clements give the run down on the contest as well as comments on the Chicken/Hot Dog fight, unfortunately I pressed the record button and it was already recording (I paused recording while Ryan gave the low down) Eh, sometimes that's how it goes.

So check out the contest video I made...
