  • Sesitec System 2.0

    Sesitec System 2.0

Since we touched on The Projects Wakeboard Camp, I thought it would be fitting to tell you a bit about Sesitec's System 2.0 for today. As I wrote yesterday, the System 2.0 is up and running at the Projects for everyone to go check out and ride behind. The good news is that if you dig it, you don't have to make frequent trips to Orlando, you can set it up in your backyard. Let me ellaborate.

Sesitec's System 2.0 is the latest in cable riding. The System 2.0 runs a straight line course, point A to point B and then back to point A again (continuing this course until your arms can't take anymore). Similar to the cable park or a chair lift, the end of the cable runs through a pulley system. Once a rider reaches an end of the line, they edge out and their buddy will initiate the turn around in the pulleys. The difference with the 2.0 compared to the cable is that the 2.0 is fixed to the top of a ladder setup, making the entire system portable. This means you can finally shred that retention pond gap in the back of your farm land.

Not only is the System 2.0 going to take riding to new locations, it will take your riding to new heights. With the 2.0 a rider is able to load the line, similar to regular cable riding, only a bit easier. By shortening the handle height, air tricks become a lot easier to learn and practice than at the cable. I feel confident that with the 2.0 the wake industry will see a lot less injuries due to drunk guys on Sunday Funday trying to prove themselves with raleys behind the boat. Instead, these boys will learn raleys behind the 2.0 and make the smooth transition to raleys behind the boat.

Still confused? Red Bull Wake Lab would be something for you to check out for more details, the entire event is run with System 2.0. Or ride it at The Projects. Or check out Sesitec's totally rad website, www.thewakeparkproject.com

If you still don't get it, just quit trying to understand and follow the trend.

  • Weekend Plans

    Weekend Plans
If you're anything like me, you have a touch of the mid-winter blues. To help you get out of your slump, there
are plenty of wake activities this weekend to help brighten your spirits. Whether you're in the East or West,
be sure to get totally wake this weekend.
For all the East coasters, plan a romantic (or bro's weekend) to the lovely Orlando. This weekend
Nautiques of Orlando is celebrating their trendy new location. The event begins Thursday the 19th and rolls
on all throughout the weekend. Festivities include a V.I.P party, a rail jam, celebrity sightings, and mad
winnnings ('09 Air Nautique or 50 G). Check orlandonautiques.com for more details.
For the West side riders, the February Freezeride is this Saturday at Carlsbad Lagoon. The Freezride is
the perfect opportunity to bro down with Keith Lyman, test new '09 Liquid gear, and shred at the lagoon.
Not to mention there will be the classic activities of eating, ping pong, and drinking. Now doesn't the
Freezeride sound a lot more eventful than that Home Depot trip you had planned? Details at carlsbadlagoon.com
Well, there you have it. Your weekend plans. Now you can't blame me for your weekend sucking because you
    didn't get off your couch.

  • The 80's Are Back

    80's Salute

I type this while listening to my best mix of 80's music, I could not be more thrilled that the 80's are making a
comeback (for some of you, you didn't know they left). Looking back at Surf Expo and all of the new product for 2009,
there is definitely a fashion twist to this year's line of product which includes: bright neons, funky designs, and retro
clothing. Check out the photo gallery and pick up on the style. You're sure to be the envy of the class '89 and trendy
    on the boat.

Think, all of these rad trends without a directional board and sandal bindings. What more could a shredder ask for?
Maybe a good 80's playlist and you'll be set.
