  • Trouble on the Two Step for Vito

Vito and Chelsie did their fourth dance last night on ABC's primetime Dancing With the Stars Show. And for the first time they may be in a little trouble. Vito's two-step was less than perfect and the two earned a low score of 16 from the judges. (Of course with this show its about who wins the nations vote, not what the judges score.)

Len Goodman, the old fart judge that gave Louie the nickname "Louie Frodo" said to Louie "It was a series of walks and then you stopped and Chelsie did something."

    Harsh

See for yourselves... The tight jeans might have had something to do with keeping the "bounce" out of Louie's two-step.

Louie and Chelsie received the lowest score from the judges but are tied at the bottom with NFL star Michael Irvin... but again, its "up to America to decide." via voting.

The critics are not giving the couple any slack.

"Louie failed to find his inner cowboy." - Dawn Minty, Ledger Enquirer

"Louie Vito: It's Not Called 'Walking With the Stars'" - Lorilee Craker, Grand Rapids Press

"While Vito and [Chelsie] Hightower haven't come close to elimination this season, the name recognition gap between Vito and Irvin could come into play with viewer votes." - Elliot Olshansky, NY Daily News

Vito even took to defending the performance on his twitter last night after the show aired.

"I was told by the world champ of two step to not pick your feet up, lead the girl. We did a true traditional 2 step. I did the best I could."

Tonight may be the end of Louie and Chelsie. Personally I'd like to see him stick it out a few more weeks... or at least until Copper Mountain gets the first halfpipe of the season built (typically mid November). The rest of America might forget, but there's a bigger competition to be practicing for than Dancing With the Stars in Vito's near future, and that's making the U.S. Team for the Vancouver Olympics this February.
