LESSinformedLESSinformed is a skate blog edited by Tom Morin. Recent Commentsfilmshooter108 says: "I fail to see the "Sport" associated with such a barbaric act of killing this beautiful beast of the Oceans. Human beings, according to most medical data, house a superior brain to any living thing on this Earth, yet, everyday, we see this battle of man and animal played out, as if the animal had a hell of a chance to succeed...What I do not understand is what kind of pleasure do you get from killing this wonderful and majestic animal, even if it were a contest, what personal pleasure do you derive from ending its life...???...it belongs in the Ocean and yet, your so called, "superior" brain, told you to kill it, take it out of its environment & stand next to it for a photographic record of the violent event....Please, try and understand what we are trying to convey to you people, who take pleasure in ending a life of this and other living things, here on Earth...Let them live, as they are God's Creatures and He put them here for other reasons and not so that you could spend a day, wallowing in its blood & salt water, for yes, a photographic record of this barbaric event...Let the animals and other creatures live, if possible, for I see no benefit to mankind, or to the field of medicine or any other necessary event that would allow mankind to benefit from the death of this most Majestic Beast..." New York City may have lost the Brooklyn Banks this year, but it gained the 2010 Maloof Money Cup presented by Vans and Monster Energy, and the best part; the course of the Volcom Pro Street contest will be donated to the city. It's set to go down June 5 - 6, at Flushing Meadows Park, you know where they had the World's Fair a while back, and where the spaceship was in Men in Black. Just like in the first two Maloof Money Cups, the winner of the street contest will get $100,000. The only difference between this edition and its Californian sister is there won't be a competition. It's NYC baby! All about the streets, son. Don't worry all you Southern CA skate fans they'll still be a Maloof Money Cup at the OC Fair, and this year it will be extended to five days from August 4 - 8. The Maloofs jus though it was only right that the East Coast gets a little taste of the festivities too. The Maloof brothers stepped into skateboarding a few years back and put on the two biggest skate contests ever. Now, there going to put on the two biggest contests ever, and in the same year. The combined purse of the 2010 Maloof Money Cup contests is $750,000. I'll end with that. Channels: Skate < previous 431 of 1565 next > |
