Human beings, according to most medical data, house a superior brain to any living thing on this Earth, yet, everyday, we see this battle of man and animal played out, as if the animal had a hell of a chance to succeed...What I do not understand is what kind of pleasure do you get from killing this wonderful and majestic animal, even if it were a contest, what personal pleasure do you derive from ending its life...???...it belongs in the Ocean and yet, your so called, "superior" brain, told you to kill it, take it out of its environment & stand next to it for a photographic record of the violent event....Please, try and understand what we are trying to convey to you people, who take pleasure in ending a life of this and other living things, here on Earth...Let them live, as they are God's Creatures and He put them here for other reasons and not so that you could spend a day, wallowing in its blood & salt water, for yes, a photographic record of this barbaric event...Let the animals and other creatures live, if possible, for I see no benefit to mankind, or to the field of medicine or any other necessary event that would allow mankind to benefit from the death of this most Majestic Beast..." Rob Dyrdek and the contest series he founded, Street League Series, announced on Wednesday that, "for the first time in history," skateboarding will have a "professional league." The idea is to have the best skateboarders the world has to offer competing "head-to-head" in a circuit, or a "series of individual stops." It's all set to go down this summer, the year 2010. ![]() Feeling a little mixed about another tour? Well, maybe the list of skaters already signed to multi-years contracts to compete will make you feel better: Chris Cole, Ryan Sheckler, Greg Lutzka, Torey Pudwill, PJ Ladd, Sean Malto, Mike Mo Capaldi, Mikey Taylor, Billy Marks, Tommy Sandoval, and Paul Rodriguez. Oh yeah, did I mention this is being billed as "the first million dollar professional tour." Now, if my math serves me right, that is 11 skaters signed, according to Street League there will be 24 skaters total, which leaves 13 slots still open. GrindTV has two questions. Has Busentiz been offered a contract? And. Will he he sign? Also, what about Cory Kennedy? Decenzo? Herman? TX? Appleyard? What about legends like: Reynolds, Koston Rowley. Ok, so we have a few more than two. I think who will make up the remaining slots will be a cool debate. Another question I was pondering, is will there be divisions? Any other professional sports league I can think of has divisions. You know: East, West, Central, National, American, NFC, AFC etc. Maybe it could be like baseball and each division will have it's own rules, like how in the MLB National League the pitcher hit, but don't in the American. It could be like in one skate division if you go switch, no mongo pushing, you have to push switch, and in the other league anything goes. Just an idea, since this is a league and everything.
