To help skateparks pop up near you, go to websites such as the Tony Hawk Foundation and Stand Up for Skateparks.
Blink 182 came back to play at Tony Hawk's recent event in BEVERLY HILLS (huh?) and so did Tony by landing his signature (?) 900! Big money makers showed up in support of skateparks everywhere. The foundation awarded $130,000 to build skateparks across the states. San Luis Obispo received a $25,000 grant for a skatepark. Mount Airy in NC and Lyndonville in Vermont received $15,000 each. Aurora in IL and Brooklyn NY and Wilmington OH and Dormont Borough in PA received $10,000 each. Receiving $5,000 were 7 more towns including two in the state of Michigan.
Skateboarding was born in LA. And in LA it shall stay!

I can't say enough about the people pulling for skateparks, especially in considerably "low-income areas". Let's face it, gang banging and selling drugs and all that cuts down on your skate time. When kids get addicted to skating they want to be better than everybody else and have no time for that sh!t. So here's to the future of skateparks, and the increasing number of them all over the world...
I want to high five him right now as well...
