It'll Get Better Texas; Volcom Is Coming to Town

By: Tom Morin

Right now is not a good time to be a Texan. The Cowboys got spanked on Monday Night football by the New York Giants, and to make things worse lost their starting quarterback, Tony Romo, for a good chunk of the year with a broken collarbone. Oh yeah, and did I mention their record is 1-5.

Now, the San Francisco Giants have a taken two games lead over the Texas Rangers in the World Series, including an embarrassing 9 - 0 beat down in game 2. I didn't even realize until I started writing this that it is manly teams called the Giants that are the problem.

It's funny, because isn't the motto of the state "Everything is Bigger In Texas." Well, maybe that's true...UNLESS YOU'RE A GIANT.

Well have no fear Texas. Your football season may be over, and the Rangers are probably going to loose the World Series, but the Volcom skate team is coming to town. Yes that's right, get ready for the Stone-Age Texas Tour. And what's the best part? It's just a tour. They'll be no contest...so no one is going to loose, which may just be what the state needs right now.

So dust yourselves off Texas, and get ready for David Gravette, Darrell Stanton and Colin Provost to show you some world class skateboarding.

P.S. THE COLORS OF THE VOLCOM STONE-AGE LINE HAVE BEEN BLACK AND ORANGE SINCE IT'S INCEPTION; THEY'RE NOT F*CKING WITH YOU.

Check out the dates and places of the tour below:

Street League 2012: Nyjah Huston Wins Kansas City... Again

Street League's instant scoring allowed for the possibility of pressure-packed moments, but very few times did the skateboarders deliver

The 2012 Street League season kicked off in Kansas City this past weekend as it did last year-- with skateboard technician Nyjah Huston taking home $150,000. Huston's ability to land difficult and technical tricks consistently makes him almost unbeatable in the current Street League format.

"It was a hard one tonight, that's for sure!" said Nyjah. "I definitely had to work for it. I love the challenge, though, and to skate with these guys is great."
