Flip IKON Series

By: Tom Morin

British turned U.S. skate brand, Flip, has been making some of the most iconic deck graphics in skateboarding from the start. Anyone who has skated since the 90s has a favorite Flip creation, whether it's the psychedelic Tom Penny graphics like the Magic Mushroom and Cheech and Chong decks. Or the English punk rock inspired Ali Boulala graphics. Or maybe the Nordic themed Rune Glifberg editions.

Whichever is your favorite one thing for sure is Flip has always killed in the art department. It's a style that is almost unmistakable, which is priceless in the world of marketing skate decks. One look at a Flip creation and you know.

Well, to keep their iconic image going they got together with artist, Chase, to create coincidentally the IKON series. A very bright, colorful, abstract and rider-specific deck series.

General Rowley even sat down with the artist himself to see what was going through his head when he created this series. So cruise over and check it out by clicking here. See what it takes to design a whole series of skateboard graphics. You don't have to be a pro skateboarder to work in skateboarding; pick up a paint brush. And remember skateboarding is, and always has been, D.I.Y.

"It was a hard one tonight, that's for sure!" said Nyjah. "I definitely had to work for it. I love the challenge, though, and to skate with these guys is great."
