The unbreakable Chaz Ortiz took 1st in street at the Wendy's Invitational in Portland, the second stop of the Dew Tour. He's just so consistent, I've never seen anybody with a trick landing average like his, he lands everything. His win has boosted him into 1st position on the overall standings for the year, and brings him one step closer to back-to-back Dew Tour Championships.

One name that was not heard today. Well, it was heard, but not in the play-by-play by the commentators, was Ryan Shecker. The Sheck was forced to pull out of the contest due the broken foot he suffered at the X Games. There were a lot of teenage girls with broken hearts today in the Portland area, because they didn't get to see the San Clemente heart throb in person.

Chris Cole, who's been on fire finished 2nd, and in the process moved into 2nd position in the overall standings. The theme for Chris Cole today is the number 2. He finished 2nd in the Wendy's Invitational, in the overall standings he's 2nd and there's 2 remaining contests on the 2009 Dew Tour. His goal is going to have to be change all the 2's to 1's, and with Sheckler hurt there's a start, 1 person out of the way.

Mr. Switch himself, Paul Rodriguez Jr., who's fresh off an X Game gold in street finished 3rd, and like Cole his placing today matches his placing in the overall standings. Paul's one of those technical guys that does really hard moves. If he can stick a few, he's untouchable. Switch kickflip to frontside boardslide on the handrail, come on, my vote for the Playstation Pro Moment, so far (there's a Transworld Best Trick Contest tomorrow).

That's that for today. Chaz Ortiz brought it home, and got one step closer to another Dew Tour Championship. With Sheckler hurt I see it as a three-way battle for the title between Ortiz, Cole and Rodriguez. We'll see. Stay tuned for coverage of the Best Trick comp tomorrow which will air on NBC at 4:00 pm EST.

Here's the full results:

1. Chaz Ortiz
2. Chris Cole
3. Paul Rodriguez Jr.
4. Carlos De Andrade
5. Ryan Decenzo
6. Fabrizio Santos

Street League 2012: Nyjah Huston Wins Kansas City... Again

Street League's instant scoring allowed for the possibility of pressure-packed moments, but very few times did the skateboarders deliver

The 2012 Street League season kicked off in Kansas City this past weekend as it did last year-- with skateboard technician Nyjah Huston taking home $150,000. Huston's ability to land difficult and technical tricks consistently makes him almost unbeatable in the current Street League format.

"It was a hard one tonight, that's for sure!" said Nyjah. "I definitely had to work for it. I love the challenge, though, and to skate with these guys is great."
