Red Bull brought skateboarding back to the streets with over 1000 spectators lining the street to catch a glimpse of Red Bull Mind the Gap. The inaugural flat gap contest took place at the intersection of Poplar and Lucky Streets in downtown Atlanta with a total of 60 skaters. The competitors put everything on the line and left everything, including some skin and blood, on the sidewalk while attempting to land their sickest tricks. In the end it was CJ Tamborino out of Minnesota who took first place with a switch varial kickflip. Wisconsin, finished in third landing a switch backside heelflip.Head over to http://www.RedBullUSA.com for more skate action from Red Bull
The 2012 Street League season kicked off in Kansas City this past weekend as it did last year-- with skateboard technician Nyjah Huston taking home $150,000. Huston's ability to land difficult and technical tricks consistently makes him almost unbeatable in the current Street League format.
"It was a hard one tonight, that's for sure!" said Nyjah. "I definitely had to work for it. I love the challenge, though, and to skate with these guys is great."
